Basic Training
You can teach an old dog new tricks!!
For owners who have re-homed an older dog, or just want a refresher course to brush away the cobwebs. Our Puppy / Basic Courses are popular and limited to 6 Dogs. Dogs can begin as soon as their vaccinations are up to date. Please Note: This course runs along side the puppy course therefore no dogs are allowed to join the class if they are aggressive towards other dogs also, if they are agressive, putting them into a hall occupied with other dogs is unlikely to make them feel any better and may make them much worse. For dogs and/or owners that find a group situation too stressful we can offer one to one training which we can tailor to your specific needs.
"What's Involved?" The course is 8 weeks long and focuses on responsible ownership and basic training issues such as paying attention, walking nicely on lead, coming back when called, not jumping up, handling and grooming. There are also exercises in basic obedience positions (sit, down and stand), play, remaining calm around other dogs, training your dog to "leave" and a "settle" exercise. A Club Certificate of Attendence is awarded at the end of the course and there is the opportunity to continue training by enrolling onto our Intermediate Course.
